Bengkulu (ANTARA) - A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Bengkulu province on Saturday evening, forcing some residents outdoors.

"The quake was strongly felt for a few seconds. Even the wall of my house shook," Adrian M Yusuf, a local resident, said.

The quake, which struck at 5.22 p.m. local time, was felt across Bengkulu City and Bengkulu district and several parts of the neighboring provinces of South Sumatra and Lampung.

There was no immediate report of casualties or material damage.
