So, the government has agreed to one thing — that is to withdraw the election bill.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna Laoly, has confirmed that the national government has agreed to withdraw the election bill from the priority national legislation program (Prolegnas) 2021.
"So, the government has agreed to one thing — that is to withdraw the election bill," he said during a working meeting led by chief of the legislation board at the House of Representatives (DPR), Supratman Andi Agtas, here on Tuesday.
The move is also intended as a response to a letter from House Commission II seeking the withdrawal of the election bill from the priority national legislation program, the minister said in a written statement made available to ANTARA.
"However, I think we do not need to evaluate it entirely because we will only bring what we have agreed to at the plenary meeting," he added.
During the working meeting, the legislation board of the House of Representatives and the law and human rights minister and the committee for legislation of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) agreed on four points.
The first point was withdrawing the election bill from the priority national legislation program; second, banning liquor; third, agreeing the number of bills in the priority national legislation program will be 33; and, fourth, agreeing the number of bills on amendments to laws will be 246. (INE)
