Manado (ANTARA) - North Sulawesi Province exported coconut flour to six countries in early April of 2021.

"Coconut flour is exported to the Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany, England, and New Zealand," Head of the North Sulawesi Industry and Trade Office Edwin Kindangen stated here on Wednesday.

Kindangen noted that the province's coconut flour was increasingly in demand in European nations.

A total of 26 tons of coconut flour was exported to the Netherlands and capable of generating foreign exchange earnings worth US$63,920 for the country.

Some 39 tons of coconut flour had been exported to Italy, with a foreign exchange value of US$37,050 and 76 tons valued at US$182,680 to France.

Furthermore, 25 tons of the commodity was exported to Germany, with a foreign exchange contribution of US$59,995; as much as 25 tons, with a value of US$62,200, to the UK; and 12.7 tons, with a value of USD 28,771, to New Zealand.

"(We) admit that the coconut flour from North Sulawesi is in great demand in the international market. Hence, exporters must maintain the quality and quantity of the product," he pointed out.

Kindangen pointed out that the product’s quality will determine the sustainability of trade transactions.
