In a broadcast on the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) channel here on Friday, Adisasmito noted that Central Java was listed as the province, with the highest number of posts, reaching up to 4,409 on Tuesday (April 13).
However, Adisasmito pointed out that provincial governments had yet to report on the establishment of COVID-19 handling posts.
"We can see that Papua Province has not yet reported on the formation of a post to the central Task Force system, in addition to the provinces of Maluku and Central Sulawesi, which have only formed one or two posts among hundreds of villages or sub-districts in the regions," Adisasmito stated.
The spokesperson lauded several areas, including West Sulawesi, Lampung, Riau Islands, West Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, South Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, and Gorontalo, for having formed 426 posts for handling COVID-19 despite not being included in the priority areas for implementing micro-scale PPKM.
Adisasmito expected the posts for handling COVID-19 in the regions to support efforts to monitor COVID-19 cases of infection and to prevent as well as overcome the crisis.
"We can learn that in principle, prevention and control efforts are better at stemming potential negative impacts in future. Although cases in an area are not a cause for concern, preparedness and prevention efforts should be made to ensure that the COVID-19 outbreak is properly controlled," he remarked.
