"Commodities contributing to inflation are chicken meat, cooking oil, oranges, household fuel, gold jewelry, grapes, papaya, filter clove cigarettes, and fresh fish," he remarked.
Setianto explained that chicken meat contributed 0.06 percent to inflation, followed by cooking oil, oranges, household fuels, gold jewelry, grapes, papaya, filter clove cigarettes, and fresh fish that contributed 0.01 percent respectively to inflation.
Meanwhile, commodities that contributed to deflation were cayenne pepper, at 0.05 percent; followed by red chilies and shallots, at 0.02 percent, respectively; while rice, spinach, and kale each contributed 0.01 percent to deflation.
Of the 90 cities that registered the Consumer Price Index (CPI), 72 reported inflation and only 18 cities contributed to deflation in April 2021.
The highest inflation was reported in Kotamobagu, at 1.31 percent, while the lowest inflation was registered at 0.01 percent in Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, the highest deflation was recorded in Jayapura, at 1.26 percent, and the lowest one was clocked in Tanjungpandan, at 0.02 percent.
With an inflation of 0.13 percent in April, inflation for the January-April 2021 calendar year was recorded at 0.58 percent, while inflation for the corresponding period in the previous year was recorded at 1.42 percent.
