Any activity must be conducted in accordance with the provisions stipulated in Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 10 of 2021
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force has urged the local government to ramp up supervision of community activities right up to the micro level.

"Any activity must be conducted in accordance with the provisions stipulated in Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 10 of 2021," Coordinator of the Expert Team, concurrently spokesperson for the Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, noted in a press release received here on Tuesday.

Adisasmito remarked that district and city governments have the authority to determine operational policies in the essential sector at the micro level.

"There needs to be a unity of command and narrative between the central and regional governments, so that the government's task to implement policies runs in accordance with expectations," he stated.

The spokesperson noted that such efforts are crucial to be made for today amid increasing community mobility ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Although the ban was imposed to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19, in the end, the number of COVID-19 cases continued to increase.

The spokesperson noted that the homecoming ban was an effort to prevent the potential increase in COVID-19 cases that often spiked after the long holidays.

Furthermore, the ban aims to control mobility in various connected areas, so that the control and prevention of COVID-19 can run effectively.
