The world is shifting to renewable energy, so we must start to set a target of investment potentials in specific sectors. Thus, it will be more focused.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Center of Economic and Law Studies (CELIOS) Director Bhima Yudhistira highlighted three keys to drive investment inflows to Indonesia.

"The first key is to improve the investment promotion pattern," Yudhistira noted here on Tuesday. The CELIOS director explained that the investment promotion pattern can be improved by outlining a target of promoting investment in specific sectors.

Yudhistira cited as an example that Indonesia can target promoting investment in green economy-based sectors in accordance with the direction of global development.

"The world is shifting to renewable energy, so we must start to set a target of investment potentials in specific sectors. Thus, it will be more focused," he explained.

The second key is that regional governments must contribute to creating initiatives and innovations under the efforts to drive the spirit of deregulation related to the job creation law, he remarked.

The initiatives and innovations by regional governments expedite the development of infrastructure to support investment.

"This is because the regional government will eventually meet investors at the location of investment every day," he stated.

Yudhistira additionally called to increase communication and synergy between the central and regional governments, as the realization of several investment proposals had been disrupted owing to problems in regions.

"Integration is lacking between the central and regional governments. Hence, when investors begin to invest, the regional governments were not ready,” he stated.

The third key is for the government to assist existing or old investors, who had been late to realize investment. Thus, they will not merely avail benefits from new investors.
