Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi made the remark after accompanying the President for a review of the Jabodebek LRT.
"The President is proud because there will be one LRT transport with a length of 44 km with 18 stopping points. This construction of LRT will be completed by the middle of next year," the minister said while delivering an online press statement on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to Sumadi, the President's pride is justified because such a technology cannot be achieved by a nation just like that.

Efforts must be made, and the project proves that a consortium of national subsidiaries can build an LRT whose quality is not inferior compared to other countries, he said.
"It is proven that in several countries we are able to win tenders. Therefore, we agree that all mass transportation in big cities will continue with this spirit," he explained.
The Jabodebek LRT will have 31 circuits, 26 of which have been completed so far, the Transportation Minister informed.
This shows that everything is being done properly, conservatively, and has time to integrate, he said.
Sumadi said the President has directed that efforts to provide mass transportation continue to be carried out consistently along with efforts to boost the nation's transportation potential by roping in both the government as well as the private sector.
"Now PT KAI plays the role. Another time it could be another company. Therefore, in this current era we provide opportunities for the private sector to play a role and be able to participate in national development," Sumadi remarked. (INE)
