Jakarta (ANTARA) - Leading on-demand platform Gojek continues to support the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, this time through accelerating vaccination program.
The company has remained at the forefront of meeting the community's daily needs during the implementation of the emergency public activity restrictions (PPKM Darurat) in Java and Bali regions. It prioritizes health protocols and complies with the operational rules set by the government.
Gojek also continues to actively collaborate with online healthcare platform Halodoc, the central government, local governments, and other stakeholders in accelerating the national vaccination program, which has so far reached hundreds of thousands of Gojek driver partners and business partners in 36 cities/districts across Indonesia.
"Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have continued to deploy a variety of innovations and initiatives that are oriented towards safety and comfort so that we can continue to be the mainstay of the community, both for customers who really need to travel, as well as for driver-partners who must continue to earn a living for their families," said Raditya Wibowo, Gojek's chief transport officer.
"Gojek's readiness to implement the PPKM Darurat includes the sustainability of its two main focuses; namely its support for the acceleration of the national vaccination program and the application of extra protection (#ProteksiEkstra) on services, which is continuously being tightened," he added.
Gojek is also providing discounts to customers booking GoRide and GoCar services to travel to and from vaccination centers through the promo code #ANTERINVAKSIN to encourage people to get vaccinated, he informed.
The discount of Rp30,000 is currently valid in the Greater Jakarta area, Surabaya, Malang, Bali and will gradually be rolled out to other big cities, he added.
Gojek is also providing information on hundreds of vaccination locations on the website http://www.go-jek.com/blog/gojek/promo-gocar/.
"We hope that this discount for vaccination trips can further facilitate access for people who want to be vaccinated, and can further help accelerate the efforts to reach the vaccination target. We are also providing the same support in other Gojek operational countries, such as Singapore and Vietnam," said Wibowo.
"Reflecting on the experience of previous activity restrictions, we believe the Gojek community can get through this emergency PPKM period well," he added.
He said that Gojek has implemented additional protective measures and tightened health protocols to its services, in compliance with the minimum measures promulgated by the government, through various initiatives and innovations since the beginning of the pandemic.
Those measures and protocols are also being routinely evaluated to maintain the safety and comfort of customers as well as driver partners, he added.
The health protocols implemented by Gojek include the Health Protocol Checklist feature and the Mask Verification Selfie on driver partners' applications; Safe Zone Operations in strategic locations; use of protective bulkheads in the GoCar and GoRide fleets; installation of air purifiers in thousands of GoCar fleets in Greater Jakarta area; and, display of driver partners' vaccination status in the latest version of the Gojek application, Wibowo informed.
According to the secretary general of the Health Ministry, Oscar Primadi, the latest wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country has demanded that the government implement emergency PPKM regulations to restrict public movement and strictly enforce health protocols to further stem virus transmission.
"We are doing all of this for the sake of recovering from the surge in the spread of COVID-19. For that, we really appreciate Gojek, which has proactively supported us through its various initiatives in supporting the acceleration of the national vaccination program. I am sure that with the cooperation of all parties, Indonesia will recover from this challenging situation," said Primadi.
