Sleman (ANTARA) - The COVID-19 task force from Sleman District, Yogyakarta Special Province, recorded an increase in the number of patients recovering from COVID-19 on July 22-25, with the figure exceeding the district's new daily case count.

"Plenty of people currently recovered from the disease. On July 22, some 385 patients recovered, while 315 made a recovery on July 23, some 983 on July 24, and 843 on July 25," spokesperson of the Sleman COVID-19 task force Shavitri Nurmaladewi stated in Sleman, on Monday.

Nurmaladewi pointed out that the record number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Sleman is far above the number of additional positive confirmed cases during the same period.

"Cases recovered in the last four days could be two or three folds higher than the number of daily confirmed cases," she noted.

Nurmaladewi noted that on July 22, some 198 additional confirmed cases were reported, 385 recovered, 44 succumbed to the disease, while 131 active cases were found.

On July 23, some 413 additional daily confirmed positive cases were found, 315 patients were confirmed to have recovered, and 31 confirmed dead.

"Only on July 23, the number of new positive confirmed cases was higher than the number of recovered patients," she stated.

Nurmaladewi confirmed that on July 24, some 312 positive confirmed cases were recorded, 983 patients were declared cured, 21 patients died, and 692 daily active cases were recorded.

"For July 25, some 295 new cases were recorded, 843 patients recovered, 27 cases were confirmed dead, and 575 active cases were recorded," she expounded.

The spokesperson noted that the recovered patients on July 15 were spread across several sub-districts in Kalasan, Ngemplak, Tempel, Pakem, Godean, Depok, and Prambanan.
