Vaccinations in the province will continue to target health workers, public service officers, older adults, vulnerable groups, and the general public, as well as teenagers, spokesperson for the Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Handling Task Force, La Ode Rabiul Awal, informed in Kendari, capital of Southeast Sulawesi province, on Wednesday.
"To date, vaccinations have been administered to 368,241 people out of the 2,002,579 residents targeted," he informed.
So far, 23,438 health workers, or 114.79 percent of the total target of 20,436, have received the first dose of the vaccine, he said.
Meanwhile, 21,645 health workers, or 105.92 percent of the total target, have received the second vaccine dose, he stated.
Furthermore, 223,875 public service officers, or 90.64 percent of the 247,006 officers targeted by the program, have received the first dose of the vaccine. Meanwhile, 106,697 officers, or 43.20 percent of the target, have received their second jab, the spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, the number of older adults receiving the first dose has reached 16,944, or 10.77 percent of the 157,296 targeted recipients, Awal said. The second dose has been administered to 7,689 older adults, or 4.89 percent of the target, he added.
The number of vulnerable people and the general public receiving the first dose of the vaccine has reached 102,391, or 7.99 percent of the 1,281,431 recipients targeted by the program. Meanwhile, 23,529 people, or 1.84 percent of the targeted population, have received the second dose, Awal informed.
"Vaccinations for teenagers have reached 1,593 people, or 0.54 percent of the 296,410 target. While the second dose of injection has reached 26 people, or 0.01 percent of the target," he added.
The spokesperson asked all parties to remain disciplined in implementing the 5M health protocols, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap in running water, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and limiting mobility and social interaction, even post vaccination.
In addition, he also urged the public to take vaccinations that have been scientifically proven to be safe and have been certified as 'halal' to boost immunity against COVID-19.
