This is (based on) the President’s directive to look at best practices, particularly for regions outside Java.Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo is keen on using the successful COVID-19 handling measures in Kudus, Central Java and Tasikmalaya, West Java as best practices for pandemic handling in other regions.
Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko made the statement during a visit to Wisma Atlet in Kemayoran on Friday to review COVID-19 patient handling.
“The cases in Kudus should become the best practice for all of us. This is (based on) the President’s directive to look at best practices, particularly for regions outside Java,” Moeldoko stated.
During a cabinet meeting, the President emphasized the remarkable cooperation at the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum involving regional administration heads, Indonesian Military (TNI), National Police (Polri), and religious figures.

“Religious leaders fully understand the vicious attack of COVID-19. Everyone is moving to speak up, to raise awareness among the community," he said.
Moreover, the President also highlighted the decision of Kudus regional administration head to turn off public street lamps during certain hours at night to prevent public activities that can lead to crowding, Moeldoko said.
“This is an innovation that should be developed in other regions since COVID-19 is very dynamic. Sometimes, it is difficult to predict its appearance,” he remarked.
