The 106 patients who recovered are spread over six districts or cities
Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Some 106 patients in Southeast Sulawesi have recovered from COVID-19, thereby bringing up the total recovery rate in the province to 14,840, Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Task Force reported.

More people recovered compared to the new positive cases on that day, Speaker of Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Task Force La Ode Rabiul Awal said in Kendari, Thursday.

"The 106 patients who recovered are spread over six districts or cities," Awal said.

Of the 106, 86 of them are from Kendari City, eight from East Kolaka District, six from Baubau City, six from Wakatobi City, and one each from North Kolaka District and Konawe Island.

Meanwhile, 91 more COVID-19 positive cases have been reported. The figure comprises 17 from East Kolaka and South Konawe, 13 from Kolaka, 10 from Konawe, eight from Baubau City, seven from North Kolaka, six from Kendari City, four from North Buton District, two each from Muna District, West Muna, and Wakatobi, and one from South Buton.

"Till today, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 18,245," he added.

There was an increase in the death count in Southeast Sulawesi by one, bringing the tally to 429.

A total of 2,976 patients are currently undergoing treatment and isolation.

Awal reminded everyone to always follow the 5M health protocols, those being wearing a mask, keeping a safe distance, frequently washing hands, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility, to reduce cases of COVID-19 in the province.

Apart from adherence to health protocols, Awal also urged the public to take part in the COVID-19 vaccination programs, to boost the immune system to make it strong against the deadly virus.
