Thus, it can be a momentum to strengthen national collaboration, integrity, and unity towards Indonesia 4.0 and achieve ‘Resilient Indonesia, Growing Indonesia’Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Industry Ministry held the Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo 2021 virtually on August 18-20, 2021, to boost competitiveness of the national industry through transformation towards embracing Industry 4.0.
"The event can be an opportunity to promote capabilities of the Indonesian manufacturing sector," Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita noted in a written statement on Thursday.
"Furthermore, it coincides with the commemoration of the 76th Indonesian Independence Day. Thus, it can be a momentum to strengthen national collaboration, integrity, and unity towards Indonesia 4.0 and achieve ‘Resilient Indonesia, Growing Indonesia’ while realizing advanced, just, inclusive, independent, and sovereign manufacturing industries," he affirmed.
Moreover, the government created a roadmap of Making Indonesia 4.0, with the objective of revitalizing the national manufacturing sector by using Industry 4.0 technologies, he stated. It is expected to boost global competitiveness of domestic industries.
The minister noted that the attempt will help to encourage growth of the real gross domestic product (GDP) by one to two percent annually; increase employment, from 20 million to 30 million jobs in 2030; and increase the manufacturing contribution to GDP, from 16 percent to 25 percent in 2030.

"The project will also help Indonesia to become the world’s 10th-largest economy in 2030 by gaining 10 percent of the net export contributions from GDP, twofold increase in productivity against the cost, and two percent research and development (R&D) expenses against the GDP,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, the Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo 2021 was aimed at strengthening networks between policy makers, industrial actors, technology providers, and academics to share ideas and research results on the latest technology as well as likely solutions to support the acceleration of industrial transformation in Indonesia.
Head of the Standardization Agency and Industrial Policy at the ministry, Doddy Rahadi, has stated that accelerating industrial transformation is part of the government's efforts to facilitate economic recovery.

"Hence, collaboration between all stakeholders in the industrial 4.0 ecosystem -- which comprised the government, industrial actors, academics, research and development institutions, technology providers, consultants, and financial players -- is very crucial," he affirmed.
The conference and expo was organized by the ministry in collaboration with PT Naganaya Indonesia International and the Indonesian Information Technology Federation (FTII).
The event used a 360 3D exhibition virtual display in assisting visitors to navigate and visit exhibition booths to learn about the displayed products and solutions.
"Visitors can also watch interesting podcasts discussing the industrial sector, take part in virtual visits to several large factories, and interact through live chat and video to more than 120 exhibition booths as well as fellow visitors," Director of PT Naganaya Indonesia Aditya Adiguna stated.
