"Let your child pick the mask that he or she likes as long as they adhere to the standards," Widyaningrum told ANTARA on Saturday.
Children above two years of age are recommended to wear masks, whereas those under two years of age have to use face shield or shield installed in the cart.
Producers have offered different types of mask for the public, including children's masks that are smaller in size and have eye-catching illustrations.
Parents can encourage their children to choose masks that pique their interest, so that they are happy and willing to wear them while venturing out or meeting other people.

The doctor noted that this practice can also be followed in choosing the type of clothing and hand sanitizer as an alternative way to wash hands in the absence of soap and water.
Let children select which hand sanitizer they want to use, so that they get accustomed to adhering to the health protocols.
The doctor emphasized that parents should continue to remind their children to maintain safe, requisite distance while meeting other people and wash their hands after touching or holding anything.
"If they have to go outdoors, be sure not to take too long," the doctor stated.
Parents should also teach their children the right way to wash their hands, the doctor noted.
From the start, children would be offered an explanation on the current situation in a language that they can understand.
Children should be given detailed information on COVID-19, its dangers, and ways to fight it. Parents can use video assistance to offer an easier understanding to their children.
