I call upon the BKKBN chief to coordinate with ministries, government institutions, and regional governments soon to ensure that their programs could be realized. Insyaallah (God willing,) the target of 14 percent can be achieved at the end of 2024.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma’ruf Amin urged National Demography and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) Chief Hasto Wardoyo to ensure that the target to lower stunting rate to 14 percent can be achieved by the end of 2024.
To this end, the BKKBN head must take into account the convergence of various programs to achieve the target until the village level, Amin remarked while addressing the online 2021 national coordination meeting on accelerating the prevention of stunting in Jakarta on Monday.
“I call upon the BKKBN chief to coordinate with ministries, government institutions, and regional governments soon to ensure that their programs could be realized. Insyaallah (God willing,) the target of 14 percent can be achieved at the end of 2024,” he affirmed.
The convergence of programs to expedite the reduction of stunting rate was aimed at ensuring that the target could be achieved, he stressed.
“Convergence is an easy word to utter, but it is sometimes difficult to realize. Any institution involved (in the programs) must abandon sectoral ego since convergence calls for collaboration among parties,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Wartoyo spoke of soon drafting a national plan of action (RAN Pasti) to accelerate the reduction in stunting rate that will encompass a mechanism, procedure, monitoring, and evaluation of programs designed to lower the country’s stunting rate.

“We realize that we will soon draft RAN Pasti in the not-so-distant future. In less than three years, the target of lowering the stunting rate to 14 percent could be achieved at the end of 2024 in accordance with the vice president’s directives,” he affirmed.
Moreover, the BKKBN is readying an incubation program to create families that are willing to partake in the endeavor.
“We will launch an incubation program. The critical success factor that necessitates our intervention is to produce high leverage, so that not too many human resources can be deployed to lower the stunting rate faster,” he remarked.
Under Presidential Regulation No. 72 of 2021, President Joko Widodo appointed BKKBN chief as executive chairman of the team to expedite the reduction in stunting rate.
