The construction of Pertashops is part of a program run by state-owned oil company Pertamina to allow energy access to village residents who live far away from Pertamina's gas stations.
The synergy and collaboration between Pertashops and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) is expected to be able to expedite the construction of Pertashops in villages in order to build village economic independence across Indonesia, Thohir said.
He also expressed his gratitude for the support and collaboration from the Ministry of Village, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Home Affairs, Pertamina, governors, district heads, mayors, state-owned bank BRI, and BUMDes for realizing the program.
Thohir said he hoped the program would continue to run in a sustainable manner, and that all village heads, village residents, and BUMDes would become proud and confident that their village will become resilient and grow to support Indonesia.
"I will continue to monitor this program. If there is a problem, citizens can directly tell the Pertashop implementation acceleration special team or the primary director of Pertamina Retail," Thohir remarked.
Earlier, the minister had lauded the presence of Pertashops distributing oil fuel to villages.
The construction of Pertashops aligns with the One Village One Outlet (OVOO) Program by Pertamina that is seeking to ensure that every village has one Pertamina distribution outlet, and thereby access to energy.
In addition to providing oil fuel for village residents, Pertashops can also act as job creators, Thohir noted. (
