"The provisions regarding face-to-face learning are determined by the regional government. Each regional government makes the rules for conducting the selection. Later, each regional government will have specifications," the Vice President said at SMKN 19 Jakarta on Wednesday.
Regarding limited face-to-face learning in Jakarta, he said, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had previously conducted strict selection and assessment of schools.
"In Jakarta, according to the Governor's report, not all of them (are conducting face-to-face learning);there are 610 out of (about) 10,000 schools. A selection was carried out. A rather strict assessment was carried out by the schools themselves regarding the readiness of the teachers, the infrastructure needed," he explained.
The most important requirement for face-to-face learning, according to Amin, is permission from parents so their children can take part in teaching and learning activities at school.

Meanwhile, Governor Baswedan said that a number of schools in Jakarta that have implemented face-to-face learning have undergone two assessments, with no cases of violations found.
"Jakarta has conducted trials in April-June (2021). At that time, 81 schools went through two assessments and were declared to be ready to be test sites," he informed while accompanying Amin on a visit to schools.
During the three-month trial, there were no cases of COVID-19 transmission found in the school environment, he said. To conduct face-to-face learning, schools must also have the ability to monitor each student who enters the school, he added.
"The limited number of students who can join face-to-face learning, which is 50 percent, is expected to make it easier for schools to monitor their students," the governor remarked.
