Today, we allow the trial opening of primary schools in the cityBekasi, West Java (ANTARA) - Bekasi City's Education Office revealed that 611 primary schools commenced face-to-face offline learning activities today with strict health protocols and attendance limit restrictions in place.
"Today, we allow the trial opening of primary schools in the city. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) that the trial is smooth as we planned earlier, and the next stage of limited face-to-face learning activities would follow shortly," Secretary of the Bekasi Education Office Krisman Irwandi stated in Bekasi, Monday.
Irwandi elaborated that some 356 public primary schools and 255 private primary schools are part of the face-to-face learning trial. The schools are opened for students from the fourth to sixth grade, with alternating attendance schedules based on their numbering on the class list, he added.

"The schools have arranged the students' attendance based on their name listing. For instance, pupils listed from number one to 16 and those listed from 17 onwards would attend school on alternate days," he stated.
Irwandi informed that the regional government had issued a directive to regulate face-to-face offline learning activities in the city and detailed health protocols that the schools should follow.
The education office had also convened meetings and discussion sessions with parents and school administrators, who are urged to monitor the pupils' activities to protect them from contracting COVID-19.

Irwandi also urged parents to drop off and pick up their children at schools to prevent crowding at other places and to ensure adherence to health protocols. The municipal police, the police, and the military will also assist with monitoring the health protocols, he remarked.
"Parents should drop off and pick up their children at the school, and school administrators should monitor health protocol compliance among the pupils and teachers," Irwandi remarked.
