Assistance from relevant parties to construct the new national capital is essential
Samarinda, East Kalimantan (ANTARA) - East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor reiterated the need for assistance from relevant parties to construct the new national capital carved from the East Kalimantan provincial territory.

Noor expressed hope that Central Sulawesi, a major producer of split stone, useful for construction and building foundations, would support the new capital's construction efforts by providing four million metric tons of split stone.

"Assistance from relevant parties to construct the new national capital is essential. East Kalimantan Province currently needs four million metric tons of split stone as the material for construction, and we hope that Central Sulawesi Province would support by providing split stone as their split stone quality is among the best," Noor stated after the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Central Sulawesi government here, Thursday.

The governor emphasized that the new national capital plan is of nationwide importance, and the country should partake to support the construction efforts, particularly for East Kalimantan, the location of the new capital.

Noor lauded Central Sulawesi as a reliable split stone producer and was convinced that even if East Kalimantan were to request up to 80 million metric tons of the stone, the province would still be able to procure it.

"This demonstrates the importance of Central Sulawesi as a producer of split stone material necessary for construction of the new capital," he affirmed.

Meanwhile, Central Sulawesi Governor Rusdy Mastura, who also inked the cooperation agreement, expressed eagerness to assist the province by providing materials necessary for the new capital city’s construction.

"We hope for the smooth construction of the new capital in East Kalimantan. I believe the Central Sulawesi residents would be advantaged by the successful relocation of the national capital and its development in future," Mastura stated.
