The goal is to produce public services that are fast, accurate, simple, low-cost, and easily accessible to the public.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly, has said that all state institutions are obliged to accelerate the provision of public services, including bureaucratic work.
"If the bureaucracy is weak, then the era of globalization and digitalization can become a threat to the government," Laoly remarked at the opening of the Digital Leadership Academy 2021, which was broadcast virtually here on Monday.
The strengthening of artificial intelligence and changes in human interactions online will change all sectors of life, he said.
The changes in the bureaucratic world must be addressed immediately through global government and digital government, he added.
To achieve this, the government needs to develop strategic policies through measures such as introducing a corporate work culture, establishing talent management that forms work units, and focusing on building and developing information technology, he explained.

He said the Indonesian bureaucracy is currently trying to create momentum for bureaucratic service changes.
He then referred to President Joko Widodo's statement on the need for change in bureaucratic services that have been considered rigid and stuck in procedure and administration.
The success of bureaucratic reform is not only determined by the great quality of human resources but also by speed and results-oriented innovations, he observed.
"Bureaucracy must adapt to the era of digitalization development," Laoly remarked.
The goal is to produce public services that are fast, accurate, simple, low-cost, and easily accessible to the public, he added.
To align digitalization into the reform system and bureaucracy, the resources of the civil servants (ASN) must also be supported, he pointed out.
"In accordance with what the President has said, the competition of the world countries is not about who is big and small, but who is the fastest," the minister said.
