He noted that as for Indonesia, the concept of halal tourism translated to the fulfillment of halal-friendly service facilities for Muslim tourists and tourism destinations, such as accommodations, restaurants, halal food, places of worship, and other halal service facilities.
This effort aims to make Indonesia a leader in global halal tourism as well as to garner the interest of Muslim tourists worldwide to visit Indonesia.
In addition, Amin noted that the trend of world tourism was marked by the increasing number of halal tourist destinations in various countries and not solely in nations with Muslim-majority populations.

"This is driven by the increasing number of Muslim travelers, especially from countries in the Middle East," the vice president remarked.
In line with the global trend in developing the Cleanliness, Health, Security, and Sustainability Program, which was the focus of the tourism sector, halal tourism developed the concept of fulfilling aspects of cleanliness, comfort, and conformity to religious demands, he said.
Furthermore, Amin called for adjustments to changes in other post-pandemic tourism trends, specifically open-air destinations and less crowding of visitors.
"In the implementation of tourism activities during the pandemic, the government has set a CHSE-based (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability) process as the standard for preparing tourist destinations. Hence, support from all stakeholders and tourists, both domestic and international, is deemed necessary to strictly implement the CHSE process,” Amin affirmed.
