The minister deemed it necessary for the state to be present and use the needed force to eliminate all potential threats to people in Papua in order to uphold human rights and social justice there.
"The community, especially women and children as a vulnerable group, must receive protection and be ensured that their right to live safely and be free from all acts of violence, especially to the point of death, be fulfilled as there should not be the slightest bit of tolerance to all forms of violence, and we must be free from all forms of discrimination. This is in line with the principle of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which is the most comprehensive protection and imposition of women's rights and is very important, as it has made the human aspect of women the focus of human rights concerns," the minister noted in a statement in a press release here on Monday.

The tragic incident of the Kiwirok Health Center being set ablaze by armed criminal group resulted in the death of Gabriella Meilani, 22, a health worker.
"This is a matter of major concern, especially when the health worker is doing community service," he noted.
As a form of protecting and fulfilling the rights of womankind, Puspayoga will coordinate with relevant agencies to offer assistance to the victims through various mediums, such as psychologists, law, or reintegration.
"I and the (whole) of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry express our deepest condolences over the loss of the humanitarian hero, Gabriella Meilani and the loss of Gerald Sokoy, who has dedicated his life to serving the people of remote communities in Papua, especially in the Bintang Mountains District," the minister affirmed.
