Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to visit Riau and Riau Islands on Tuesday to plant mangroves along with the residents and observe the abrasion-affected sites at Wisata Raja Kecik Beach, Bengkalis.

Jokowi and his entourage departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force (TNI AU) Base in Jakarta aboard the Indonesia-1 presidential aircraft on Tuesday morning, the Presidential Secretary Press Bureau reported here.

Upon arrival at the Roesmin Nurjadi air force base in Pekanbaru City, the head of state will continue his trip aboard Air Force’s Super Puma helicopter to head to Bengkalis District.

In Bengkalis, the head of state will plant mangroves along with the residents and observe some abrasion-affected spots at the Wisata Raja Kecik Beach.

Jokowi will thereafter return to the Roesmin Nurjadi Air Force Base in Pekanbaru City aboard a helicopter. From there, he and the group will take off to Riau Islands Province.

After arriving at the Hang Nadim International Airport, the head of state will pay a visit to the Setokok neighborhood, Bulang Sub-district, to plant mangroves again with the residents.

In the afternoon, he along with the group will return to the airport to depart for Jakarta.

State Secretary Minister Pratikno, Presidential Military Secretary Air Vice Marshal M. Tonny Harjono, Presidential Security Detail Commander Tri Budi Utomo, and Presidential Secretary’s Deputy of Protocol, Press, and Media Bey Machmudin accompanied President Jokowi aboard while heading to Riau Province.
