This is to ensure that our efforts to help accelerate the eradication of extreme poverty in 2021 in the five priority districts would be realizedJakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin chaired a working meeting to address extreme poverty in the five districts of Cianjur, Bandung, Kuningan, Indramayu, and Karawang at the West Java Governor's Office in Bandung, West Java, Wednesday.
Vice President Amin, in a statement received from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Vice President's Secretariat (BPMI Setwapres), Wednesday, urged local government officials to ensure that extreme poverty alleviation programs were right on target.
"This convergence is important to ensure that various programs are integrated, from planning to implementation on the field," Amin noted.
The vice president called to update data related to groups of beneficiaries of government assistance to reach the target of beneficiaries correctly.
Hence, the vice president urged the West Java provincial government and related district governments to immediately update the data and information on the beneficiary groups in each district.
"This is to ensure that our efforts to help accelerate the eradication of extreme poverty in 2021 in the five priority districts would be realized," he stated.
West Java is one of the seven provinces that are targeted to tackle extreme poverty by the end of 2021.
The total number of extremely poor people in the five priority districts in West Java reaches 460,327, with the number of extremely poor households reaching 107,560.
The extremely poor population in the five districts comprises 90,480 people in Cianjur District, 93,480 in Bandung District, 69,090 in Kuningan District, 106,690 in Indramayu District and 106,780 in Karawang District.
Attendees at the meeting also comprised West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, Cianjur District Head Herman Suherman, Bandung District Head Dadang Supriatna, Kuningan District Head Acep Purnama, Indramayu District Head Nina Gustina Da'i Bachtiar, and Karawang District Head Cellica Nurrachadiana.
