MSMEs are everything for the government and for us all. Which is why, during the pandemic, MSMEs should be prioritized and be given subsidyJakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Wimboh Santoso echoed his support to funding, mentorship, and digitalization for the development of Indonesia's micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
At a press conference held virtually and live in Solo on Thursday, he expects the collaboration among the central and regional governments, ministries or institutions, and other stakeholders could support MSMEs, so that they can join the digital ecosystem.
"I believe that this collaboration is expected to swiftly revive MSMEs," he noted.
Speaking in connection with mentorship, Santoso highlighted that the recently opened GoTo MSMEs Center and MSMEs Campus with OJK had been designed to develop and empower MSMEs' knowledge.

These facilities primarily aim to help MSMEs migrate to the e-commerce digital ecosystem, so that their products can be more competitive in terms of the quality.
"The existence of this MSMEs Campus is extraordinary. Anything can be answered there, starting from production to how to bookkeep and understand taxes, as well as migrate to the e-commerce ecosystem," he remarked.
The opportunity for MSMEs to grow and develop in Indonesia is still wide open since there are still scores of undeveloped human resources in the education, health, and financial fields as well as in terms of digital literacy access, Santoso noted.
In addition, MSMEs account for over 90 percent of the businesses, he noted.
"MSMEs are everything for the government and for us all. Which is why, during the pandemic, MSMEs should be prioritized and be given subsidy," he expounded.
During the event, Deputy of Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Siti Azizah stated that her group had encouraged MSMEs to connect to the digital ecosystem.
