Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's economic recovery from the impact of COVID-19 is a must, but the people's health remains top priority, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir stated.

Health remained a fundamental part of the Indonesia Healthy, Indonesia Work, and Indonesia Grow principle, Thohir said while speaking during the Capital Market Summit & Expo (CMSE) 2021 here on Thursday,

To support national health, SOEs will continue to cooperate with the Health Ministry and Foreign Affairs Ministry in figuring out a solution, so that the nation no longer has to import vaccines anymore.

In its effort to produce a domestic vaccine, the SOEs Ministry is collaborating with several parties from Indonesia's best universities and also research institutions, he noted.

"We are also open to cooperate with popular universities in the world," he affirmed.

Thohir highlighted another effort in handling the pandemic in the form of cooperation to build modular hospitals in various regions, such as Jakarta, Lampung, and Bandung.

The SOEs ministry is also collaborating with the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry to convert Wisma Atlet into a COVID-19 Handling Emergency Hospital.

"We are also developing the PeduliLindungi application with Kominfo since last year, and it finally works well, thanks to the support of all ministries, and it can now be integrated with private parties and applications in other ministries," he affirmed.

"Because this is not the day for us to stand alone but to mutually help each other, so that NIK (citizen's number) integration, vaccination data, and testing data, can be the solution for Indonesian people and tourists coming to Indonesia," he remarked.

To facilitate the nation's economic recovery, SOEs also work with the Finance Ministry, Manpower Ministry, and other ministries or institutions, the minister noted.

SOEs had also distributed PEN stimulus worth Rp376 trillion for 57 million group of beneficiaries, he affirmed. SOEs have also conducted credit restructuring for debtors impacted by COVID-19, he remarked.
