The assistance, among others, was in the form of money worth Rp500 million given from the Vice President Secretariat Office in accordance with Amin's directives.
"I also seek special assistance from the Vice President's Office, amounting to Rp500 million, from the Vice President's Office," he noted on Friday.
Earlier, Vice President Amin spoke with GKI Paulus Sowi 4 Manokwari's Pastor and received updates on the development plan for a new building for school.
"The pastor told me that the church will start to build an education center and also a new church building to address the issue of overcapacity in the old church," Amin remarked.
The vice president is optimistic that by accelerating development in West Papua and Papua, Indonesia would become a more prosperous and competitive country.
"The government and home affairs minister will take action. If we build our country, Indonesia's competitiveness will increase and it will become more prosperous, especially in West Papua and Papua," Vice President Amin affirmed.
Amin's visit to GKI Paulus Sowi 4 was part of the activities during his working visit to West Papua. Amin also visited the Office of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in West Papua Province to converse with leaders of religious community organizations.
After the visit, Amin departed for Papua Province to continue the agenda of his working visit. Also accompanying the vice president during his visit to GKI Paulus Sowi 4 were Coordinating Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Minister Mahfud MD, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Manpower Ministry Ida Fauziyah, and Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Teten Masduki.
