The level 2 PPKM, to be valid from Oct 19 to Nov 1, 2021, is based on indicators, including adjustment of public health efforts and restrictions on public activities to control the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Home Affairs Minister’s Instruction No. 53 of 2021 on level 3, 2, and 1 PPKM issued on Tuesday.
The level 2 PPKM status is imposed in a region where coverage of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination reaches at least 50 percent and the first dose COVID-19 vaccination coverage for elderly people above 60 years of age touches 40 percent of the vaccination target.

According to the Jakarta provincial government's data uploaded on corona Jakarta go.id on Oct 18, 2021, the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination coverage in the capital reached approximately 10.75 million, or 120.3 percent of the targeted 8.94 million residents holding Jakarta identity cards.
Nearly 7.09 million, or 79 percent of the 10.75 million people receiving their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, are the residents of Jakarta.
Meanwhile, coverage for the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination in the capital reached 8.13 million or 91 percent of the target.

Of the total, 62 percent, or 5.55 million, are residents with Jakarta ID cards.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in Jakarta also remained under control, with 1,314 people receiving treatment as of Oct 18, 2021, down 32 cases from the day before.
Positivity rate in the capital can also be kept under control to reach 0.8 percent in the past week based on the results of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based swab tests conducted on 134,460 specimens.
The positivity rate is far below the World Health Organization (WHO) standard of at least five percent. In addition, the number of people undergoing PCR tests is also higher than the WHO standard of 10,645 people per week.
