In the last event, there were only 5 thousand visitors in three days. Now, as long as they have wifi, they can join the eventJakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia is optimistic of securing more transactions during the 2021 Pacific Exposition, which will be held virtually from October 27 to 30, 2021.
“We are optimistic to obtain at least the same amount of transaction as the first event. However, after we heard the optimism of our members, we believe that we can record a much higher transaction value this year,” Indonesian Ambassador to New ZealandTantowi Yahya disclosed during the media gathering of Pacific Exposition 2, held online on Wednesday.
Indonesia had secured US$70.3 million, or equivalent to Rp1 trillion in total transactions during the 2019 Pacific Exposition, he informed.
Yahya said he had earlier targeted to achieve total transactions of Rp2 trillion during the event this year or double that of the previous one.
The optimism was based on a number of factors, he said adding that the event will be held virtually, thereby allowing unlimited guests around the world to participate.

There will be 200 or more virtual booths at the event compared to 30 booths in 2019, he informed.
As many as 312 enterprises have confirmed their participation in the event, thus allowing more products to be promoted, he said.
“So, there will be a leap in the number of products to be promoted,” he noted.
In addition, the 2021 Pacific Exposition will be operational around the clock, enabling participants to access booths more flexibly, he said.

A total of six provinces in Eastern Indonesia will be involved in the event—Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, and North Sulawesi, he added.
“I had organized a seminar with governors of the six provinces. The North Sulawesi Governor had said to me that he believes he will achieve a transaction value of Rp2 trillion. We were very excited if one booth can potentially gain the 200-per cent increase. I hope we can achieve it,” he expounded.

Eighteen countries have confirmed their participation in the 2021 Pacific Exposition: Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, New Caledonia, Samoa, Timor Leste, Palau, Tuvalu, Niue, Solomon Islands, Tonga, French Polynesia, Kiribati, and Guam, he informed.
At least 312 enterprises from participating countries will conduct activities in 200 virtual booths at the expo. As many as 11 companies from Australia, six from the Cook Islands, 15 from Fiji, 28 from New Caledonia, 7 from Papua New Guinea, 4 from French Polynesia, 3 from Timor Leste, 1 from Tonga, and 1 from Samoa are taking part in the exhibition, Yahya said.
