"In preparation for the exhibition, we are currently identifying superior products to be showcased at the Pacific Exposition 2021. Although it will be held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are ready to showcase Papuan products to the international community," Head of the Papuan Border and Foreign Cooperation Agency (BPKLN) Suzana Wanggai stated via the Papua Provincial Government's website, Saturday.
Wanggai remarked that several superior products of Papua to be displayed at the event comprised Sambal Mace Papua, Sambal Baba, and Papuan Coffee.
Her side and related institutions are also encouraging superior Papuan batik products to be promoted globally.
Since the exhibition will be held online, Wanggai noted that the Papua provincial government had cooperated with an event organizer (EO) to set and prepare everything pertaining to the virtual display.
"This is since we compete with several provinces in Indonesia, such as West Papua, Maluku, North Maluku, and North Sulawesi, which are confirmed to participate in the 2021 Pacific Exposition. Since it will be held virtually, we roped in an EO to make preparations for the event," she explained.
Speaking in connection with the identification of Papua's superior products, Wanggai explained that it was a follow-up to the results of a joint meeting with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to New Zealand and the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs some time ago.
"We seek support of related parties and the Papuan people, so that preparations for participating in the Pacific Exposition can go smoothly," she remarked.
