"Visitors at the Indonesia Pavilion at the 2020 Dubai Expo could catch a glimpse of Indonesia by experiencing and witnessing its civilization, development, and opportunities. This is important, as we aim to showcase Indonesia's important role in global development in the past, present, and the future," Minister Lutfi stated.
He made the statement while observing the preparations for Indonesia National Day, scheduled on Thursday (November 4), and attended by President Joko Widodo.
The Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow zones at the Indonesia Pavilion portray Indonesia's role in global development, he remarked.
Indonesia has played role in global trade since the past, as the country is the main producer of exotic spices, such as nutmeg, Lutfi stated.
“Nutmeg is important for global development, and without nutmeg, no expeditions would be successful, as nutmeg is used to preserve foods for the long journey," the minister noted.
Indonesia is currently striving to triple the national gross domestic product (GDP) by 2045 and escape the middle-income trap to emerge as the fifth-largest economy in the world, he explained.

"To realize the Indonesia Golden Era 2045 vision, our focus is aimed at infrastructure investment and technology transfer, including the digital economy system," he noted.
The minister expounded that the Indonesia Pavilion showcased Indonesia's openness to business and investment, as the country is not engaged in protectionist behavior as per President Joko Widodo’s instruction that lays emphasis on openness in business opportunities.
Meanwhile, the Indonesia National Day to be celebrated at the 2020 Dubai Expo will showcase Indonesia's culture, natural diversity, and business opportunities through a spectacular performance with the use of sophisticated technology at Al-Wasl Plaza, he revealed.
"Indonesia National Day is expected by many and is projected to be the benchmark for 2020 Dubai Expo participants," Lutfi noted.
The minister confirmed that the Indonesia Pavilion is among the most popular at the 2020 Dubai Expo, as visitors to the pavilion had reached the 200 thousand mark by Tuesday (November 2).
Children, in particular, are drawn to the pavilion, as they are keen to see exotic animal species of komodo and rhinoceros projected on the pavilion's screen at the pavilion's Today Zone, Lutfi noted.
The children are also keen to watch Indonesian kids dressed in traditional attire and reciting an oath to protect the earth in various languages, such as Arabic, Indonesian, English, Chinese, French, Spanish, Russian, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, and Korean, he added.
