This is purely a stimulus program with no complicated aspects. It is easy, and it can be claimed in one day to drive the local economy's revenue
Medan, N Sumatra (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has disbursed Rp50 million to drive product development and marketing for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno made the statement while attending the "Creative KaTa Indonesia" workshop in Medan, North Sumatra, on Monday.

"This is purely a stimulus program with no complicated aspects. It is easy, and it can be claimed in one day to drive the local economy's revenue," Minister Uno remarked.

Uno explained that the assistance was a form of realization of the Proud of Indonesian Products (BBI) movement launched in early 2021 to encourage the development of MSMEs.

The minister later explained that three thousand quotas were left for MSMEs to receive the Rp50 million assistance. He reminded MSME business players, especially in North Sumatra, to immediately register to have access to the aid funds.

The government has also continued to encourage MSMEs to develop and promote their products in the digital market in an effort to reach a wider customer base.

However, Uno cautioned that a lack of information and creativity to make the most of digital marketing may hinder their business development.

To this end, the ministry has launched this program, especially for several sub-sectors, including culinary, craft, fashion, and beauty products. They will receive a stimulus of Rp50 million, with 3,500 slots left to boost the development of MSMEs.

Meanwhile, a traditional beverage business player, who attended the "Creative KaTa Indonesia," Nizwa Lestari, lauded the government's stimulus assistance.

Lestari received assistance from the MSME workshop to develop her products and as a result is currently capable of producing one thousand bottles daily at a price of Rp10 thousand.

"I use digital marketing for my product development through Instagram, marketplace, and others. Thank God it is selling fast," she stated.
