"We need the next generation to possess world-class skills and knowledge and be proficient in utilizing and developing technology as well as practicing the values of Pancasila (five principles)," Makarim stated at the virtual launch in Jakarta, Monday.
The minister remarked that the Indonesian education system must be transformed to enable Indonesia to immediately make leaps of progress.
On account of the current demands, Makarim called to immediately make adjustments and changes in the education process, so that teachers in Indonesia can conduct their duties optimally, specifically through the development of digitalization of schools.
Hence, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has developed digital platforms related to teaching and school management, such as Guru Belajar and Berbagi (Teacher Learning and Sharing), which is a space for teachers to interact and improve each other's abilities by sharing teaching materials and good practices.
Moreover, the Rumah Belajar Portal provides and supports teachers and students from early childhood education (PAUD) to university levels to conduct distance learning.
