Jakarta (ANTARA) - At least 93,105,029 Indonesians have received their second COVID-19 dose as of Friday afternoon, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported.

Meanwhile, the number of fully vaccinated residents rose by 830,467 on Friday compared to the previous day, according to the latest data released by the COVID-19 task force.

According to the task force's data, the number of people who have received the first vaccine dose increased by 792,057 from the previous day to reach 137,505,204 on Friday.

The number of people who have received the third or booster dose, which has been solely earmarked for healthcare workers, rose by 5,780 to reach 1,224,083.

Overall, the government is seeking to administer two vaccine doses to a total of 208,265,720 people to create herd immunity.

According to the task force, the number of active cases or patients receiving treatment rose by 53 in the 24 hours ended Friday, taking the total number to 8,093 nationwide.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 453 to touch 4,255,268 since the first confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country were detected in March 2020.

With 14 people succumbing to the virus, the COVID-19 death toll crossed 143,796.

As many as 386 patients recovered from COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,103,379.
