These programs to bolster women's participation are initiated by the Women in Sport Commission of the Indonesian Olympics Committee (KOI).
"I am proud and grateful for the Women in Sport Commission's initiative because it increases women's involvement in sports, not only as athletes but also as coaches and the management," Permatahani remarked on the KOI website here on Saturday.
Permatahani, who once competed in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in the women's 400m individual medley, made assurance that the sporting world will have more women athletes.
Meanwhile, a member of the Women in Sport Commission of KOI, Shelly Selowati, explained that women must support one another to increase their role in the sporting world.
Selowati then shared her experiences during her time as the executive member of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) and part of the Board of Directors of the International Amateur Boxing Federation (AIBA).

"I am in the international boxing federation where all the members are men. This is the challenge, where I, as a woman, can exist and develop in this sports branch until finally, I become a member of the AIBA Board of Directors," she emphasized.
However, Selowati believes that the problem arose when someone is envious of the other's success. Hence, that is what she wants to overcome. "We must be sincere. We must lead and help our fellow women," she added.
Selowati highlighted her intent to see Indonesia advance, especially for Indonesian women.
"The Merah Putih flag (Indonesia's national flag) must fly out there, and it starts from us. We all can make something," she affirmed.
According to Selowati, the Women in Sport Commission is open to all women keen to hone their skills. She also invited women looking to make a sports career to give inputs and contact the commission if they were looking for training.
