Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning of a possible tsunami for residents in the provinces of South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and Maluku.

The early warning was issued following a 7.5 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday at 10.20 Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB).

The hypocenter of the earthquake was at 7.59 degrees south latitude and 122.26 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 12 kilometers (km).
