The launch of the app shows the commitment of the government and the police to mitigate the transmission of the Omicron variant in Indonesia.Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo launched the PRESISI Quarantine Monitoring app at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang City, Banten Province, on Thursday.
He said the PRESISI is based on the concept of the working programs initiated by the national police that are focused on predictability, responsibility, transparency, and fairness.
Head of the public relations division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that the launch of the app follows President Joko Widodo’s directives to not provide any dispensation to international travelers regarding the quarantine period.
"The launch of the app shows the commitment of the government and the police to mitigate the transmission of the Omicron variant in Indonesia," he remarked.
In addition, the National Police has also prepared several task forces comprising Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Resort Police personnel to strengthen the implementation of self-isolation requirements for international travelers, he informed.
"We are monitoring the arrivals of the travelers at various entry points, including at ports and national borders," he said.
The PRESISI Quarantine Monitoring app shows monitoring data, quarantine statistics, and PCR test results of isolated travelers, Prasetyo informed.
The police will install the app’s dashboard at each quarantine site and the command center of the National Police Headquarters, he said.
All international travelers arriving in Indonesia will be required to download and install the app on their smartphones, he said.

They will be asked to scan the barcode at their respective isolation facilities, he added.
The application will track the position of people placed under quarantine in real time, he said. Thus, if they are outside their isolation areas, an officer will immediately be notified to fetch them, he explained.
The app launch was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and head of the State Intelligent Agency (BIN), Budi Gunawan.
According to the COVID-19 Task Force’s Circular Letter Number 1/2022, dated January 4, 2022, the Indonesian government has banned travelers from a number of countries with high Omicron transmission rates and their surrounding countries.
The countries comprise South Africa, Botswana, Norway, France, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Lesotho, the United Kingdom, and Denmark.
