MSMEs players must be assisted to continue to move and innovate in order to boost their competitiveness, especially with several similar products in the market
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Regional Representatives Council (DPD) speaker A. A. LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti called to optimize the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) while urging the government to innovate in order to help them.

“MSMEs players must be assisted to continue to move and innovate in order to boost their competitiveness, especially with several similar products in the market,” Mattalitti noted in a press statement here, Monday.

Mattalitti deemed that cooperatives have an equally important role to play in helping to further optimize the development of MSMEs. The speaker emphasized that the growth of microenterprises and cooperatives must be balanced.

Furthermore, he also opined that the lack of funding had become an obstacle that hindered the development of MSMEs in the country to become optimal.

The DPD speaker noted that the lack of funding led to MSME players deviating their focus on innovations to look for funding to maintain their business.

Mattalitti remarked that product innovations could be developed by maximizing available resources and should be supported by funding.

"This (lack of funding) problem must be addressed through concrete actions, so that MSME players can focus on product innovations that are based on available resources. Thus, MSMEs can utilize natural resources and make them the region's typical products," he explained.
