Tangerang (ANTARA) - The government of Tangerang District, Banten Province, began administering the third or booster vaccinations to public service officers in the region on Tuesday.

"Today, there are around 600 to 700 people (receiving booster vaccinations) from the target of almost 13 thousand people, including contract teachers and officers of the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police (Polri)," Tangerang district head Ahmed Zaki Iskandar informed here on Tuesday.

He said that the launch of booster vaccinations for public service officers was attended by representatives of several related agencies, such as officers from the Tangerang District Attorney's Office, 0510 Tigaraksa District Military Command, Tangerang District Police, and the Regional Apparatus Organizations of the district.

Booster vaccinations for the general public will also continue to be carried out in a number of community health centers in the district, he added.

"Therefore, the government of Tangerang District encourages the community to register themselves at community health centers to get the third vaccine dose as a form of self-protection against COVID-19," the district head said.

With the Banten Health Office sending 10 thousand vaccine doses to the district on Tuesday, Tangerang currently has enough vaccines in stock, he added.
