The business world has the same obligation as all of us in actively participating in supporting the government's policies to control the pandemicJakarta (ANTARA) - House of Representatives (DPR) Commission IX member Elva Hartati urged entrepreneurs to comply with the Public Activity Restriction (PPKM) regulation since the government had extended the PPKM in Java and Bali until February 21, 2022.
"The business world has the same obligation as all of us in actively participating in supporting the government's policies to control the pandemic," the House member noted through a statement on Wednesday.
"To this end, the business world should follow the PPKM regulation," Hartati emphasized.
Hartati concurred with the government's decision to extend the PPKM in Java and Bali until February 21, 2022.
"I agreed with the extension since our current positivity rate has reached 32.9 percent, which far exceeds the rate that WHO has recommended," she remarked.
"Hence, social restrictions have to be tightened in order to not further worsen the pandemic situation," Hartati stressed.
Meanwhile, the commission's member Saniatul Lativa also echoed this view and supported the extension of PPKM, as the number of COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron variant had continued to increase domestically.
"Seeing how the number of cases of the Omicron variant have continued to surge, I agree that the PPKM in Java and Bali should be extended until February 21 for everyone's safety," she remarked.
The House Commission IX member Nurhadi pressed for harsh action against offices that violate the PPKM regulation.
Work from home should be implemented by all offices that have become COVID-19 clusters, he stressed.
"If it was found that offices have become the biggest COVID-19 infection clusters, then they should start work from home," he reiterated.
Other potential for crowding should also be prevented, he added.
