This is one of the health protocols that we need to continue during the pandemicJakarta (ANTARA) - Alongside maintaining physical health, managing stress to preserve mental health is just as important amid the pandemic, Health Ministry's Health Promotion and People Empowerment Director, Imran Agus Nurali, stated.
"There are many ways to manage stress, such as developing a hobby, painting, singing, and gardening. These are methods to manage stress, which includes rest," he noted through a statement on Thursday.
"This is one of the health protocols that we need to continue during the pandemic," he emphasized.
Stress can also be managed through adequate rest. During the pandemic, several people, who work from home, tend to overlook taking rest, despite it being necessary amid the hustle and bustle of life.
Nurali also underlined the importance of implementing GERMAS, or the Health People Movement.
GERMAS is a national movement of the government that focuses on long-term health, which encompasses routine 30-minute physical activities on a daily basis and increasing fruit and vegetable intake.
In addition, routine health check-ups, maintenance of personal and environmental hygiene, and education on health information are deemed necessary.
Health protocols should also be maintained, and the level of caution exercised should never decline.
"In essence, we still need to maintain the 5M (wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining social distance, reducing mobility, avoiding crowds) health protocols," he remarked.
"In addition, it is just as important to exercise, rest, and eat nutritious food to maintain the body's immunity," he affirmed.
The health protocol standard of washing hands and wearing a mask should also be continued in the future and not just during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Washing hands is important to prevent various diseases and maintain cleanliness.
Meanwhile, wearing a mask could prevent the spread of tuberculosis and the entry of cigarette smoke that could harm the respiratory system.
