Tangerang (ANTARA) - The Tangerang City Education Service in Banten Province has announced that face-to-face learning will resume in elementary and junior high schools from March 7, 2022, with attendance capped at 50 percent.

The decision to resume PTM is based on a recommendation from the Tangerang Mayor, the Tangerang Health Service, and other institutions, Head of the Tangerang City Education Service Jamaluddin said.

"This PTM will still be limited to the elementary and junior high school levels, which is only 50 percent. Only students in grades six and nine will be allowed to participate in the limited PTM, both for public and private schools," he informed on Friday.

Regarding readiness, he said that the education service has inspected all schools to ensure the implementation of the health protocols.

"Since three days ago, related parties have been inspecting schools to check on their cleanliness and other supporting facilities," Jamaluddin informed.

He said the rules for conducting PTM during the pandemic will be the same as before. Thus, students will not be allowed to go to the canteen and will need to bring their lunch, and they will need to get vaccinated and follow the health protocols, he elaborated.

"PTM will be carried out in stages, and the result of limited PTM will be used as an evaluation material to carry out 100 percent PTM," he said.
