Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI) delivered a report to Youth and Sports Minister Zainudin Amali on its activities, including an Esports exhibition held during the Papua National Sports Week (PON) XX, on Friday.

"PBESI delivered its report on Indonesia's Esports activities all this time and its future activities," the minister informed in an official statement released here the same day.

"In addition, it also reported the Pelatnas (National Training Centralization) toward this year's SEA Games as well as several activities in addition to Rakornas (National Work Meeting) invitation," he added.

The PBESI group was led by its chief, Bambang Sunarwibowo, along with secretary general Frengky, deputy treasurer Diana, head of legal, Yudistira Adipratama, and special staff Adipati Karna.

Meanwhile, the minister was accompanied by achievement sports assistant deputy Surono.

During the meeting, Amali conveyed the government's appreciation and gratitude to PBESI for advancing electronic sports within the nation.

"I thank you. The government lauds the effort carried out by PBESI for the development of Indonesia's Esports," he said.

Meanwhile, on behalf of PBESI chairman Budi Gunawan, Sunarwibowo thanked the government for its support for Esports.

While meeting the minister, the PBESI delegation reported on various ecosystems and programs that have been and will be carried out as part of Esports in 2022.

"There are many programs that require support, whether they are regulation, assistance, and coordination, so that the ecosystem of Indonesian Esports can proceed well," he remarked.

"We support it together so that, in this year, we can have more achievements compared to the previous years," he said.

Earlier, PBESI had said that it was gearing for Pelatnas as part of preparations for the 2022 SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, in May this year.
