"Five provinces -- Aceh, East Nusa Tenggara, Central Sulawesi, Gorontalo, and North Kalimantan -- show a slight upward trend," he noted.
However, nationwide, the trend of daily cases of COVID-19 daily has started to decline as is apparent from the decrease in the virus effective reproduction number (Rt) in all Indonesian major islands, he explained.
In addition, the number of inpatients in hospitals also decreased. Currently, 60 percent of the treated patients do not have symptoms or exhibit mild symptoms.
"Most of the cases in treatment are those that clinically and medically do not require nurses," the vice minister noted.
In connection with the death count, 50 percent of the COVID-19 patients, who died, had comorbidities.

Most of these deaths were recorded in the elderly with comorbidities in the form of diabetes, hypertension, and kidney failure.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan explained that the trend of daily confirmed cases for Java and Bali Islands had shown a decline.
"The number of inpatients in Java and Bali has declined, except for Yogyakarta. However, we estimate that the figure in Yogyakarta will drop within several days," he remarked.
With a decline in the number of daily cases, the government decided that several districts or cities return to Public Activity Restriction (PPKM) Level 2, including in the Greater Jakarta and Surabaya agglomeration regions.
Moreover, the government has urged the public to not be picky about the vaccine brand during COVID-19 to expedite the creation of herd immunity, Harbuwono emphasized.
