Through SIMBARA, it is possible to control the illegal mineral and coal trade conducted by business actors, both producers and brokers, which result in the leakage of state revenuesJakarta (ANTARA) - The Inter-Ministerial/Institutional Mineral and Coal Information System (SIMBARA) will be able to curb illegal mineral and coal trade activities, according to Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arifin Tasrif.
"Through SIMBARA, it is possible to control the illegal mineral and coal trade conducted by business actors, both producers and brokers, which result in the leakage of state revenues," Tasrif stated at the launch of SIMBARA by the Ministry of Finance here on Tuesday.
The minister also remarked that this illegal mineral and coal trade had cost the state heavily since a lot of revenue had been lost. Tasrif is optimistic that SIMBARA would be able to encourage state revenues.
Sound coordination from all parties will realize the effectiveness and optimization of state revenues through SIMBARA, he remarked.

In addition, the existence of SIMBARA can encourage the supervision of Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) policies.
"With SIMBARA, compliance monitoring with DMO by business entities can be conducted more optimally," Tasrif remarked.
The minister believes that the Online Single Submission (OSS) facility for mineral and coal sectors would become faster and more accountable through the development of this system.
"Through the development of an integrated information system, we can support improved management, recording, and reporting that are more accountable and reliable," he noted.

SIMBARA is a non-tax state revenue (PNBP) monitoring application system and coal mineral trading system.
This system records all the mineral and coal management processes, starting from upstream to downstream, specifically the planning, mining, processing, and refining processes.
Moreover, it can record the sale of mineral and coal commodities as well as the fulfillment of obligations for the payment of state revenues and clearance from ports.
The development of SIMBARA is being conducted by several ministries and agencies, such as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Transportation, and Bank Indonesia.
"SIMBARA is here to support the synergy of business processes and the flow of mineral and coal trade data between ministries and agencies," Tasrif concluded.
