Such intentions were reflected in the meeting between the two news agencies, during which ANTARA was represented by Head of the Video Division Monalisa while WAM was represented by Director-General Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi.
“I think we have a lot of things we can work on as news agencies. We have a close relationship between both countries, and there are a lot of areas that are growing between both Indonesia and the UAE,” Alrayssi noted in Dubai on Tuesday.
He believed that cooperation between the two agencies can focus on several areas, including the business, industry, and investment fields, based on the keen interest of business makers from each country in the potential of Indonesia and the UAE.
Moreover, opportunities exist to further introduce the UAE to the Indonesian public and vice versa.
“It is a good start to be in communication with each other, connecting our systems together to have more and more distribution for the news and exchange,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Head of ANTARA’s Video Division Monalisa remarked that several different formats within the framework of a cooperation can be carried out between the news agencies, especially with ANTARA’s geographical reach that covers the archipelago.

“Through this cooperation, WAM will be able to acquire a variety of news products from all across Indonesia,” she affirmed.
Monalisa believed that WAM has demonstrated its seriousness to reach out to a wider Indonesian audience, through its Bahasa Indonesia news services, adding that cooperation in news exchange will elevate such efforts.
She remarked that the cooperation can then be followed by cultural promotions through photography exhibitions, strengthening of human resources through training programs, as well as data exchange.
