Sleman, Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - PT TWC, which manages the temples of Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko, has ensured the readiness of its tourism destinations to welcome the 2022 G20 delegates.

"Several facilities and infrastructure have been prepared for supporting the international forum (G20) consisting of 19 countries and the European Union (EU)," president director of PT TWC, Edy Setijono, remarked in Yogyakarta on Wednesday.

According to Setijono, PT TWC, as a managing firm of cultural heritage destinations, supports the G20 implementation as it will help advance the tourism industry. He said the support for G20 has involved preparing the destination areas along with operational services that meet international standards.

“(The preparations have covered) All venues of G20 activities, including the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park, and some restaurants and theaters like Rama Shinta, Ramayana, and Dagi Abhinaya at Borobudur TWC complex. While the Beautiful Indonesia Mini Park (TMII) is still in the process of revitalization to welcome the G20 delegation in the third quarter of 2022," he pointed out.

He also said that the working agenda for Indonesia’s G20 Presidency will motivate the tourism sector and its supporting services.

According to Setijono, the G20 theme of "Recover Together, Recover Stronger" seeks to activate high-quality tourism by boosting recovery towards the post-pandemic era.

Three G20 side events will take place in the Candi Tourism Park area in March 2022: G20 Education Working Group (EdWG), G20 on Environment Deputies Meeting and Climate Sustainability Working Group (EDM-CSWG), and the G20 Energy Transition Working Group (ETWG).

Setijono said PT TWC will invite G20 delegates to explore and experience top destinations with activities that will include dinner with panoramic views of Prambanan Temple, enjoying the sunrise and breakfast at Bukit Dagi, and witnessing the panorama of Borobudur Temple, or watching the legendary dance performances of Sendratari Ramayana and Dramatari Roro Jonggrang.
