Through the summit, Indonesia can also prove that it is one of the countries that are leading in electric vehicle development, he added.

The ongoing development of the vehicle battery and component industry as well as the establishment of SPKLU and home-charging facilities show that the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia is growing and developing rapidly from the upstream to downstream sectors.

"I am delighted that PLN has prepared 60 units of 200 kilowatts (kW) Ultra-Fast SPKLUs, which are the first Ultra-Fast SPKLUs in Indonesia, as well as 150 home-charging facilities, which will be used by G20 delegates later," Widodo said.

According to the president director of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo, the Ultra-Fast SPKLU takes less than 30 minutes to fully charge an electric vehicle, he noted.

In addition, the facility uses a dynamic load distribution system, which can speed up the charging process while charging two electric cars concurrently.

At the inauguration, the President was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, State Secretary Minister Pratikno, as well as Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno.

According to the G20 official site, the 17th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit is scheduled to take place on November 15–16, 2022, in Bali.
