Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) conducted verification of the post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction requirements.

Several disasters that drew the agency's attention include the Mount Semeru eruption in Lumajang, East Java; the tropical cyclone seroja in East Nusa Tenggara; earthquake in West Sulawesi; and tidal flood in Banten.

In a written statement on Thursday, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Deputy Jarwansyah noted that during the post-disaster period, several sectors still had to be handled, such as permanent residence, river embankment, drainage channel, clean water network, sanitation, road, bridge, school building, office, and market. These are what drive collective multi-party efforts.

The agency has coordinated with the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry and local regional governments for post-disaster handling efforts to prevent overlapping in handling activities, Jarwansyah stated during the verification meeting held online.

The meeting, held on Thursday in Bogor, West Java, aims to ensure the requirements for activities proposed by the PUPR Ministry.

These activities have been listed within the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Plan (R3P) document and aligned with the budget availability in the Finance Ministry.

"The PUPR ministry has conducted destruction examination and cost requirement analysis to carry out rehabilitation and reconstruction activities that have not been handled," he added.

According to the meeting's result, several regions comprising West Sulawesi (Mamuju, Majene, and Mamasa), East Nusa Tenggara, and Banten have the R3P document.

Meanwhile, Lumajang, East Java, did not have the document.

The result of the meeting serves as a foundation for the issuance of BNPB's recommendation letter for the disaster handling budget requirement proposal.

The letter is addressed to the finance minister, so that it can be allocated to the 2022 PUPR Ministry Budget Execution List of Contents (DIPA).

Multi-party coordination between ministries and institutions is a form of the government's efforts in helping disaster mitigation starting from pre-disaster to post-disaster.

Through this, the affected population can rise and conduct activities once again.
